This Is Not a Government or Law-Enforcement Office. We operate a private reference site and cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, arrange a surrender, accept bond, change court process, or give legal advice. For an official answer, contact the court that issued the process or the sheriff or police department responsible for serving it in that locality.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Virginia routes court matters through its statewide Circuit Court, General District Court, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court systems. The locality and type of case determine which clerk or law-enforcement agency holds the record:
- Finding public case information: OCIS 2.0 offers selected public court case details, not a complete warrant register. Search by the relevant county or independent city, then contact the court clerk to request the official file or confirm process.
- Checking current warrant status: VCIN and NCIC are restricted law-enforcement systems, not public search sites. Use Browse Counties to reach the issuing court or the sheriff or police agency responsible for service.
- A missed court appearance: ask the clerk for the General District, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District, or Circuit Court handling the case whether additional process was issued and what steps the court allows. Virginia has no separate municipal court tier.
- Resolving a warrant: consult a licensed Virginia attorney and contact the issuing court about a hearing, recall, surrender, or bond. The local sheriff or police department can explain its service process.
- Understanding statewide systems: read our Warrant Check guide and the Warrant Database overview for what public case information and restricted agency networks can show.
Virginia’s 95 counties and 38 independent cities are separate local court localities within the statewide court structure. A court clerk can explain the court record, while the responsible sheriff or police department can address service and execution. Open Browse Counties and choose the county or city tied to the case.
